Who is wccrochet?

Will Chatlosh is a 23-year-old fiber artist who is working to reinvent how people view crochet!

Will Chatlosh (he/him) is an artist living in New York, NY, but originally from Grand Rapids, MI. Will recently received his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Fashion Studies from Kendall College of Art and Design and associates in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, NY, graduating with honors in both programs. Will’s mission has always been to change the way that people view crochet in the field of arts and crafts, and to connect with others using his abilities. He has grown a community by sharing his work on social media under the name @wccrochet, and has been posting about his crochet projects since 2017.

Will initially taught himself to crochet at the age of eleven using Youtube as his main resource for information Initially only crocheting for leisure and for gifts, Will began within the field of amigurumi (Japanese for "crocheted or knitted stuffed toy"), and has since created unique patterns and designs of his own. Will was recently featured in the December 2022 issue of Crochet World Magazine, Vogue Knitting Live (2025 & 2026), Michigan State Arts in the Legislature (2024), and was awarded in the international art competition ‘ArtPrize’ held in his hometown in Fall ‘22.

Over the last five years, Will has been motivated to communicate and create messages with his ability to crochet: delving into the world of freeform crochet art, creating crocheted portraits and more.

Will has worked on projects with companies including JOANN Fabrics, Addi, Boye Yarn & Crafts, Making Change Magazine, Love Crafts, and more. In March ‘26, he featured in a solo exhibition at H&H Cologne, a massive fiber convention, where he led a weekend of self-directed workshops and compiled hundreds of crochet submissions for a community-based fiber art mural project, providing creative direction for the company hosting the events.

Will Chatlosh also puts an immense amount of work into garment construction, sewing and embroidery, and trend research. He has worked with multiple international fine artists and fashion designers, and has sold and shown his own work is galleries across the US and Europe. Will is always excited for each new opportunity that awaits, and strives to give back to the communities that support his creative spirit!
